FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I have a dental emergency, can I see someone today?

If you are a Dental Plan patient then please complete the triage form as soon as possible. It will be forwarded to our dentists for assessment and our reception team will be in touch.

We have a limited number of emergency appointments available each day and our dentists will allocate those according to need.

In the short term our team may be able to offer remedial advice even for those who cannot get into the surgery.

Why should I join the Dental Plan?

Research shows that preventative dentistry delivered on a regular basis greatly reduces the risk of dental disease. The plan provides advantages both to you and to us. It will allow us to plan your dental care more effectively and provide the best chance of keeping you dentally fit. For you, it gives you the opportunity to spread the cost of your preventive dental care across the year, receive discount on many routine treatments and also give you the peace of mind that should a dental emergency occur when you are away from home that you can access help through the Worldwide Dental Emergency Assistance Scheme.

How do you join our plan?

Joining is very simple. All you have to do is complete a registration form for us and Direct Debit mandate and authorisation form for DPAS. In addition to your first monthly payment, an initial registration fee of £10 per person will be payable by you to DPAS and will be included in your first Direct Debit payment.

Benefits of the payment plans are available after three consecutive monthly payments. Initial plan membership is for a minimum of 12 months after which you may cancel at any time with one month's notice.

To find out more about our dental plans, speak to our Reception team.

Will my insurance cover my visit?

As above, we are unable to charge to private health policies directly other than our own DPAS dental plan. We are happy provide you with an invoice you for any treatment that you have with us but would recommend that you check with your insurer directly before going ahead to make sure that you are covered.

Do you offer finance options?

We are unable to offer finance packages for treatment at present but this is something that we may be offering in the future.

Do you have a Hygeniest at the practice?

Our dentists offer a full scale and polish at the same time as your examination rather than refer you to a seperate Hygenist. At The Old Grammar School our Principals feel that they get much better insight into their patients oral health when they undertake the cleaning themselves. Should more specialist periodontic work be identified they will immediately refer patients to the appropriate local specialist.
